President - Rev. Kara Wheeler

Kara is the Associate Pastor for Family Ministries at First Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She is a Certified Christian Educator. Kara is passionate about Christians living into their calling as disciples of Christ.  Spiritual practices like prayer, Scripture reading, silence, and sabbath are important to her because she believes they are a process to help form her in the image of Christ so that others may see Christ through her and experience His love and transformation upon their life. As a family, she, her husband and daughter love to travel and play games together.

Vice President - Rev. Dr. Chris Denny

Chris is the Pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Columbia, South Caroline. He is passionate about engaging the full self in the worship of God. Chris also revels in studying the stories of scripture with all ages. On his days off, he can be found hiking in the woods with his wife and young adult son.

Secretary - Rev. Evans Baah Mintah

Evans is an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in both the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. He serves as a hospital chaplain, providing pastoral care and spiritual support to patients and families, and also pastors Victory Presbyterian Worship Center and Preaching Point in Jonesboro, Georgia, where he focuses on preaching, teaching, and spiritual nurture. He is a Certified Christian Educator with over two decades of experience in ministry and education in Ghana and the United States. His work integrates faith, education, and human development, with a strong commitment to spiritual growth, moral formation, and equipping individuals and families to live out their Christian faith with compassion, integrity, and practical application.

Treasurer - Rev. Cassie Waits

Cassie is the Associate Pastor of Discipleship at First Presbyterian Church in ​Marietta, Georgia. A lifelong “numbers” person, she enjoys the opportunity to use her background in business to strengthen the church. After ten years in corporate America, Cassie sensed a call to vocational ministry. Saying “yes” to God’s call sent her on an adventure that gets better every year! In her ministry at First Presbyterian Church, she helps the congregation live out their faith through study, stewardship, and service. When not at the church, she can be found paddleboarding on the lake, cheering for Georgia Tech, or hanging out with her family. 

Communications Coordinator - Dr. Cheryl Carson

Cheryl retired in 2025 after serving Central Florida Presbytery for 15 years, most recently as Associate Executive Presbyter. She is a Ruling Elder and a Certified Christian Educator. Her love is engaging adults in Bible study and listening as they think theologically and apply the word to their lives. She also finds joy in leading worship in creative ways. Cheryl lives in Merritt Island, Florida with her two dogs and four cats and array of wild ducks and waterfowl who flock to her back yard. She enjoys weekly walks in nature, birding, and card-making.  She is convinced that God lives on her pool patio (or maybe God lives everywhere but she's more aware of God's presence on her "Patio de la Paz de Dios").
